Dear Participants and Caregivers,
Happy New Year to all of our PTC families. May the new year bless everyone with health, wealth happiness and promises of a hopeful tomorrow!
Thank you for your continued patience throughout the Coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19). Unfortunately, in light of the growing number of positive cases in New Jersey and guidance by government officials, the Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD) has informed us that day programs will not be re-opening on Tuesday, January 19th. They have not provided day programs with a definitive re-opening date as of today, the only information we were given is that DDD will provide at least two weeks’ notice to everyone once they determine a re-opening date. I’m sorry to be the bearer of bad news, please know that we have every intention of reopening as expeditiously as possible when it is safe and we are permitted to do so.
All PrimeTime Center locations will continue to offer virtual activities throughout the day at their regularly scheduled times of 8:00am, 9:30am, 11:00am, 12:30pm and 2:00pm.
PTC will offer virtual classes on skills development which can include social skills, communication skills, health/safety skills, employment skills, choice making, functional language arts/math skills and activities of daily living.
We will also offer virtual classes in regards to recreation and leisure including fitness classes, culinary arts, music and dance classes, arts & crafts, book clubs, scavenger hunts, current events and virtual field trips. We encourage individuals to reach out to their program supervisor with any ideas of interest for lesson topics.
Although we understand that virtual services may not be the preferred method of service delivery for all of our participants, virtual services are what the state is allowing us to offer at this current time so that we may continue to bring in revenue that will allow us to stay open through this pandemic. I’m sincerely asking all PTC families, at this very critical juncture, to please consider utilizing our virtual services. If you have any questions/concerns about utilizing PTC virtual services, please speak with your program supervisor.
We will review additional guidance as it is made available to us and will contact everyone with updated information and/or recommendations. As you remain home for the time being I would like to continue to remind you of the following precautionary measures and ask that you review them:
- Cover your coughs and sneezes with a tissue or into your sleeve, not your hands.
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth.
- Wash hands often for at least 20 seconds, especially after coughing or sneezing.
- Use alcohol-based hand sanitizer if soap and water are not available.
- Avoid people who are sick.
- Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces and objects.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation, as we are taking this situation seriously in the best interest of our PTC participants, families and staff.
